Grammy Award winning Jamaican Dancehall artiste Moses ‘Beenie Man’ Davis was recently issued a 10 year US visa.

Davis joins Mavado another artiste who had his visa reissued enabling them to visit and perform in the United States once again. Vybz Kartel, Aidonia and Bounty Killer, artistes who have had their US work permits revoked, are still unable to travel to the United States.

Beenie Man told the Jamaica Star, ‘I am just thankful to the US Embassy for their renewed confidence in me….I have been granted a visitor’s visa, however, this is just the first step towards the ultimate objaective of earning a US work permit so that I can realize my full earning potential so I can take care of my family.’

The Press Release according to Star sources stated, “….he also thanks his attorneys Professor David P. Rowe Esq and Rosemarie D. Robinson Esq for their professional assistance during this difficult time. Mr Davis re-affirms his commitment to decency and family values as integral aspects of Jamaican reggae music.’

This is looking good so far for the music, first Mavado now Beenie….hopefully fans in the US can look forward to seeing the ‘Doctor’ Beenie Man performing live and direct again someday soon.
