by Natalie Monique

As Carnival is high in the air, Trinidadian Singer/Model/Songwriter Annya-Li teams up with Jamaican Dancehall artiste Assassin a.k.a Agent Sasco in the somewhat unexpected, yet totally explosive collaboration ‘Again’.

The song was produced by Bambino and Coppershot Music on the Karnival Konnek Riddim. The energetic mix from the two artistes result in a vibrant and unique vibe; with Internationally acclaimed Assassin maintaining his Dancehall flavor throughout, while multi-genre fused Annya raises the Soca tempo, causing an explosive cross over of the islands.

NEW!! Dancehall artiste D’Angel to launch her first novel ‘Love Triangle’ this month

by Natalie Monique

Multi-talented Jamaican female entertainer, Michelle Downer aka. D’Angel (‘First Lady’) has now added the acclaimed title of Author, to her resume.

Quoted on the cover as ‘The Most Controversial Dancehall Novel Yet…’ ….fans can look forward to the soon-to-be-released book, ‘Love Triangle’ written by this multi-talented Dancehall artiste, entrepreneur and former wife of popular International Dancehall entertainer, Beenie Man. On the cover, there is a warning advisory for ‘explicit’ content, so guess Miss Downer will be going deep in this.

Even before the introduction of this novel, we may at some point (due to high media publicity) been made aware, of the happenings leading up to the dissolving of the union between this popular Jamaican celebrity couple…there has been speculative word on the street as to what the book is about, however D’Angel told the Jamaica Observer it is a fictitious story about three individuals from different walks of life facing different realiities. She said, “This effort just tells a story that is designed for adults, so I am excited about it, and trust me, I can’t wait to hear what my critics have to say this time around….I know I did a great job. I’m sure my fans will love it, but it’s still my first book so it’s almost like the first time on stage, it can be a little unnerving.”

… regardless of what the book will actually be about, one thing is admirable and highly notable…and that is to see that D’Angel has made a positive and unique move in her career…I assume her Autobiography which is set for a future launch, however may include some of the personal challenges in her life, both on and off the stage, events she has previously highlighted in her songs. The First Lady is known for thought-provoking tunes such as ‘Stronger, ‘, ‘Break Free’ and ‘Stand Firm, ‘ all in some sense depicting her ability to overcome struggles, making her a stronger woman.

‘Love Triangle‘ is to be launched this month as part of a two book deal with local Jamaican-based Publishers Page Turner Publishing House, the second novel, an Autobiography will be launched at the end of the year.
