It is reported that Jamaican veteran Dancehall artiste Wayne ‘Capt. Barkey’ Hamilton and a female companion were shot dead outside the Holiday Motel, Eastchester Bronx, New York.
NY Post say sources have identified the dead man as Wayne Hamilton a.k.a Dancehall artiste Capt Barkey. Barkey is apart of the popular Reggae Dancehall duo Captain Barkey and Wickerman, that rose to fame from back in the 90’s.
The incident took place at around 3:45 am and there were a number of witnesses, who were guests at the Motel. Sources say guests were awaken by the loud gunshots, when ‘..the woman’s ex-husband pumped bullets into her, despite her pleading for her life.’
This was after first killing Hamilton (Barkey) in the parking lot, and chasing the 38 year old woman to the back of the hotel, where her life was then taken.
Post says one witness said, “A girl ran down the walkway and he shot her,” he said. “He shot her two or three times’ and another “I heard [her] plead for [her] life and then heard gunshots,” “She was begging”.
UPDATE: Barkey, is survived by wife and eight children. The police are now searching for the alleged killer of the two deceased, Haitian born, Joseph Kernizan the estranged husband of the female partner he was with that night . He is found to have had 16 prior arrests, including but not limited to Assault, robbery, forgery, fraud and criminal possession of a weapon.
