Soca Gold 2012 will unleash the freshest anthems on May 29 on VP Records and feature the genre’s hottest artists – representing the islands of Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, Jamaica and St Vincent.

This top-selling series, which won “Best Soca Compilation” for the past 5 years in a row at the Soca Music Awards, includes the monster hit “Jab (No Pain)” from 3-time Soca Monarch Winner Iwer George, the catchy dance anthem “Bubble On A DJ” by Swappi, “Good Time” by 6-time Barbados Road March Winner Edwin Yearwood, this year’s ladies anthem “No Pressure” by Sass featuring Nadia Boston and “De Drinkers Anthem” from former Chutney Monarch King Ricky Jai featuring Jamaican dancehall legend Lady Saw.

Congrats seem to be in order for Groovy Soca Monarch 2011 Kees Dieffenthaller aka. Kes (KES the Band). In his latest single, he shows us how to put the ‘Stress Away’, but seems he has gone a step further, as he will also be ditching the single life:)

‘Mr Wotless’ is set to marry his girlfriend Teri Leigh Bovell We hear it is this weekend, but this has not been confirmed as yet.

Last night the Digicel International Soca Monarch and Play Whe Groovy Soca Monarch 2012 Semi-Finals went into full gear at the Arima Velodrome. Stay tuned right here, for the confirmed finalists who will battle for the Soca Monarch title on Friday, February 17th, 2012.

NEW!! The UK’s first Caribbean Festival, CALO is well underway, August 19th-21st, 2011

CALO, the UK’s first presumably largest Pan Caribbean Event is currently underway. The three day event features a wide variety of Caribbean culture mix, through Entertainment, Food, Dance, Arts and Crafts and Workshops.
The event is sponsored by Trinidad & Tobago Entertainment Co, Grace Foods, Arts Council UK and Caribbean Airlines to name a few.

The Festival is being held at the historical Alexandra Palace in North London.
