Pics/Video: Seven beauties representing the Caribbean in Miss Earth 2012

PICS/VIDEO: SEVEN BEAUTIES REPRESENTING THE CARIBBEAN IN MISS EARTH 2012. The annual Miss Earth 2012 competition takes place at Versailles Place in the Phillipines, November 24th, 2012.

Eighty-one (81) young ladies with a purpose will be competing for the coveted Miss Earth 2012 title, and get the chance to make a positive worldwide change. They will be given various challenges geared at protecting the Earth and encouraging awareness.

This years pageant focuses on the United Nation’s ‘International Year of Sustainable Energy For All’ theme, which aims to ensure the entire world has access to modern energy services.

Leading up to the competition, the ladies have been embarking on various school and environmental tours and competing in exciting challenges such as, ‘Big Sister for a Day’, ‘Green Bag Challenge’, ‘Darling of the Press’, ‘Most Fun Beauty’, ‘Most Charming’, ‘Liter of light’, ‘Best Artist’, as well as a Swimsuit, Resorts Wear and Talent Competition and more…

Last year Olga Alava, Miss Ecuador copped the Miss Earth 2011 title…Based on the Challenge scores so far, Miss Turkey, Belgium and Germany seem to be dominating …. Can a Caribbean sister be in the overall running this year;) We like that Miss Bahamas was selected to rep the competiion on Television *grins* (See video below):

The 62nd staging of the prestigious Miss World Pageant will take place on August 18th, 2012 in Ordos, China.
Fourteen (14) ladies will be representing the Caribbean in this year’s competition, which in total includes 122 beautiful ladies across the globe.

In 2003, Jamaica’s Lisa Hanna walked away with the Miss World title and Yendi Phillips placed 6th in 2007…how will we do this year?

So far in the ‘Challenge Events’, the Miss Panama and Miss Jamaica are in the Top 5 in Performing Talent along with Norway, Phillipines and China. Making the Semi-finals in the Beach Fashion ‘Top 40’ are, Trinidad, Jamaica and Martinique.

The Sports and Fitness takes place August 9th and the Top Model finals take place on August 12th of which Miss Bahamas, Belize, Jamaica and Trinidad have been selected. There will also be a Multi Media Award (promoting their country using Multi-Media Resources) and Beauty With a Purpose Award.

NEW! Mbathio Baye takes crown in first ever controversial Miss Black France pageant

The first ever Miss Black France has been causing huge controversy ever since its announcement.

Despite the outrage and mixed views, the contest did end up taking place and 21 year old Senegalese studentMbathio Baye came out the winner.

Funny, I have always wondered about this ‘Miss Black’ this and that…I have never got it…but neway

Congrats seem to be in order for Groovy Soca Monarch 2011 Kees Dieffenthaller aka. Kes (KES the Band). In his latest single, he shows us how to put the ‘Stress Away’, but seems he has gone a step further, as he will also be ditching the single life:)

‘Mr Wotless’ is set to marry his girlfriend Teri Leigh Bovell We hear it is this weekend, but this has not been confirmed as yet.

Former Miss Jamaica Petite winner and entrepreneur Tunya Palmer aka. Tunya , has added another title to her name. She tells the world she is the ‘Ultimate Hustler’ in her hot single and newly released Music Video.

The official Video World Premiere/Launch party was held this weekend, at the popular Aura Lounge in Kingston, Jamaica, which happens to also be a business venture of the artiste. The video was directed by Terminal 4 Media and is sure to engage audience with the suggestively controversial storyline..sure to get the ladies moving:)

The artiste’s strong yet, feminine voice on the catchy rhythm, the sophisticated yet tasteful styling and hardcore lyrics accessorized with a touch of elegance and a bit of controversy (lol) are all a good look for a new artiste.’Power in a pint’ as they would say in the islands….looking forward to hearing more from this artiste.

Congrats to the stunning Angolian beauty Leila Lopezon taking home the Miss Universe 2011 title, after competing with 88 other fabulous beauties, from all over the world. Second place went to Miss Ukraine, and third, Miss Brazil, Miss Phillipines and China, fourth and fifth place respectively.

Miss Panama, Sheldry Saez represented the Caribbean well, placing 6th in the Swimsuit competition as well as in the Top 16.
