It is now being reported that Ray J was home when he learned of Whitney’s passing, and quickly rushed to the Beverly Hilton Hotel but was turned away by law enforcers. Ray J had been involved with Whitney sometime ago, and it is alleged they were actually dating again, even up to days before her death. According to TMZ sources, the two were spotted out at dinner, before leaving in Ray J’s Rolls Royce. Reports had been surfacing that it was Ray J who had found the well loved singer dead, however, from what sources are reporting , the two had not seen each other for two days before Whitney’s death.
Sources say he had this to say, ‘Over the past few days, I’ve tried to process the emptinessthat i’m experiencing. What my heart feels cannot be expressed in words. The world lost an icon, but I lost my close friend….Nippy, I miss you so much. You were so happy and full of love. Your smile will live in my heart forever.’ (Nippy a nickname given to her by her Dad)
Whitney was found dead with her face underwater, and feet up in a bath tub in her hotel room by her assistant, as they were preparing to leave for Clive Davis’ party. Pop Crush reports that Whitney’s only daughter Bobbi Kristina is also taking the death badly, as she has been hospitalized twice for Alcohol and Sedative overuse, and it was reported that she too (as well as Ray J), was turned away on arrival at the hotel where Whitney died.
The funeral for Whitney Houston will take place tomorrow, February 18, 2012 in Newark, New Jersey. Wow, still unbelievable #RIPWhitneyHouston R&B Queen, beautiful woman….one of my favorite singers…so sad!

So much for the naysayers, who were constantly hounding the couple about having a baby, being pregnant, faking the pregnancy, and then the ‘alleged meaning’ behind the baby’s name….hmmm

Common’s new single ‘Sweet’ from his album, The Dreamer/The Believer to be released December 20. The video was filmed over four days, in the gritty streets of Haiti, where himself and talented Haitian-American Director, Phillipe Scaglietti aka. Phil The God captured the beauty of the island despite the damage fom the recent devastating earthquake that ravished the island back in 2010.
Behind The Scenes
One may ask, Why Haiti? and Why this deep, thought provoking song? Well, the prolific writer/musician told MTV sources: “When I started ‘Sweet,’ as soon as I started talking on it, I was like, ‘Yo, this is hip-hop, this is what I do…It was a lot I had to get off my chest on that. And at the same token, I love hip-hop music and raw rap music, for me it was like, ‘Man, I’m gonna go ahead and give them this side of me too.’ ” He went on to explain, “The great thing about hip-hop, you definitely get motivated by other hip-hop artists…You get in the ring and you’ll be like, ‘Let’s go,’ but for me, it’s like, I’m talking to whoever feels it, whoever when they hear it, they’re like, ‘Ooh, is that person talking about me?’ ”
Sources say Common used the popularity of this fresh video, to raise funds for the Disaster ridden island. He previously live streamed a sneak peek of the video, where fans would have to first pay $1 to view it. The proceeds they say were in aid of the Sean Penn led J’P Haitian Relief Organization.
Can we say SWEEEET (Pun Intended), taking the Caribbean to the world through Music… not sure about the extremely ‘colorful’ lyrics though, lol but love this move by Common…happy for the Island love:)!Check out the video below, what are your thoughts?
