FROM THE TRACK TO THE RUNWAY: JAMAICAN OLYMPIC SPRINTER ASAFA POWELL SIGNED TO PULSE MODEL AGENCY. Yesterday, Pulse one of the premier Model Agencies in Kingston, Jamaica announced via their official Facebook page that their newest addition was none other than popular Jamaican Olympic medalist Asafa Powell.
Asafa ‘Sub-10 King’ is popularly known not only on the Track, but amongst the ladies for his well-cut physique, ‘treating’ his female fans to frequent photo posts on his various Social media accounts, as well as various magazine appearances.
The multi-talented Jamaican vocalist Alaine teamed up with Kenyan artiste Wyre, Love Child in ‘Nakupenda Pia’.
The track was apparently leaked and sampled on a popular African radio station. Based on numerous trending online comments, the track produced by Dillie, seems to be getting good response so far.
Singer Alaine tweeted, ‘Loving the response to my new song with @WyreDaLoveChild ” Nakupenda Pia”…maaddddd!!!!’ While Wyre also showed appreciation to fans tweeting, ‘Just wanna thank everyone for the overwhelming response to #nakupenda pia. Big up @Alainesinga & @GMONEYizME team Reggae & Dancehall! Boom!
Wyre has previously done collaborations with other Jamaican artistes such as Gramps Morgan and Dancehall’s ‘Bad Gal’ Cecile‘She Say Dat’.
‘Nakupenda Pia’ is Swahili language and translates to ‘I love you too’ in English….Looking forward to checking out this one!

Eighty-one (81) young ladies with a purpose will be competing for the coveted Miss Earth 2012 title, and get the chance to make a positive worldwide change. They will be given various challenges geared at protecting the Earth and encouraging awareness.
This years pageant focuses on the United Nation’s ‘International Year of Sustainable Energy For All’ theme, which aims to ensure the entire world has access to modern energy services.
Leading up to the competition, the ladies have been embarking on various school and environmental tours and competing in exciting challenges such as, ‘Big Sister for a Day’, ‘Green Bag Challenge’, ‘Darling of the Press’, ‘Most Fun Beauty’, ‘Most Charming’, ‘Liter of light’, ‘Best Artist’, as well as a Swimsuit, Resorts Wear and Talent Competition and more…
Last year Olga Alava, Miss Ecuador copped the Miss Earth 2011 title…Based on the Challenge scores so far, Miss Turkey, Belgium and Germany seem to be dominating …. Can a Caribbean sister be in the overall running this year;) We like that Miss Bahamas was selected to rep the competiion on Television *grins* (See video below):
